Irving Macleod is the acknowledged pseudonym adopted by Ruaraig when working as an animalier . The skills used and the attention given to this work are the same but the output is entirely different .
This is a relatively new departure for Beltane Studios . Look out for new animal sculptures and sculptural tables in this section.
This sculpture is called " The Hurcheon " which is Scots for the hedgehog.
It is signed and bears the Beltane Studios foundry seal . The base is flat and is felt covered to avoid scratching polished surfaces.
The patina here is "Penny Bronze" but as your sculpture would be cast to order you can chose the finish you want.
Edition of ninety five

The tabletop height is 450mm and the glass diameter is 1100mm . Edition of 50
For over twenty years Beltane Studios designed and made sculptural tables for Mark Stoddart International Designer , indeed almost everything on their website was designed by Beltane Studios , cast from their artwork or enlarged from their maquettes .
No signature was given to these tables as the requirement was of a kitsch nature that did not match with Beltane Studios' standards . The retailer was allowed to have their own mark.
For provenance purposes we would gladly let owners know if their table is one of ours .
Free from these constraints Beltane Studios' range pays proper respect to their subjects . Every care is taken to ensure that these animals are true to their natures . After all , why guild the lily ?
The table top height is 450mm and the glass diameter is 1100mm. Edition of 50 .
This respectful and accurate study of an adult male pygmy hippopotamus is named after Edinburgh zoo's favourite , Otto .
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but there is no denying that these animals have character to spare .
As with all Beltane Studios' tables this is signed , carries the foundry seal and is marked with the edition number on the base
£4,905.60
All of the sculpture by Ruaraig Maciver or Irving Macleod is available for sale .
On the odd occasion there may be a piece in stock but usually your sculpture will be cast to order .
Why not come along and see your piece being cast , talk to Iomhar and Ruaraig and discuss patination options or anything else you fancy .
If it's too far to come the foundry will keep you updated with a photographic record of the progress of your chosen artwork
